Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. He was a noted polymath, was known to be a great author of all times, writer, scientist, inventor, politician, civic activists , salesman, diplomat. In his time he was able to do many major discoveries that has widely contributed totodays modern applications in science and technolgy.

Franklin was the root foundation of American values and character. His colorful life and legacy of scientific and political achievement, as well as his status as one of America's most influential Founding Fathers has placed him in many coinage, warships in the names of towns, counties, educational institutions, namesakes, companies, and for several decades in many cultural references as well.

One of his famous written essays I have found to be useful is taken from his saying "Don’t give too much for the whistle", entitled THE WHISTLE. Part of the storyline goes like this ' When I was a child of seven years old, my friends, on a holiday, filled my pocket with coppers. I went directly to a shop where they sold toys for children; and being charmed with the sound of a whistle, that I met by the way in the hands of another boy, I voluntarily offered and gave all my money for one.Coming home whistling all over the house, much pleased with my whistle, but disturbing all the family. My brothers, and sisters, and cousins, understanding the bargain I had made, told me I had given four times as much for it as it was worth;and laughed at me so much for my folly, that I cried with vexation that gave me the reflection and chagrin than the whistle gave me pleasure. This, however, was afterwards of use to me, the impression continuing on my mind; so that often, when I was tempted to buy some unnecessary thing, I said to myself, Don’t give too much for the whistle; and I saved my money instead.
